He Will

The breakthrough is finally here. I mean, we’re not exactly where we want to be, but we are definitely on our way. For years, we felt like we were hitting brick wall after brick wall. There were closed doors all around us. But, God has finally opened the door to the things that we have hope for.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NLT)

God is the source of all hope.

If you are on this journey of faith, there’s no doubt that you’ve faced your share of disappointments. You’ve faced closed door after closed door. You’ve experienced the sadness that comes with living below where God has called you to. And this is not easy.

I’ve found myself asking God, “When will it be our turn?”

Have you asked God this question before? “When will it be my turn to get married? When will it be my turn to start a family? When will it be my turn to live in financial blessing? When will it be my turn to excel in purpose?

It can sometimes be hard to watch others enjoy the blessings of God, especially when you have this burning desire for more inside of you. But, we must understand where this burning desire– this hope– comes from. According to Romans 15:13, God is the source of hope. If you have hope for anything–a better life, a family, financial blessing, better health– it’s because He put it in your heart. He has given you the desire to be who you are destined to be…to become who He created you to be.

Your hope is leading you to your destiny.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NLT)

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

God has an intricate plan for your life. He has a plan for your future family–who you will marry and your future children. He has a plan for your current marriage and family– for healing, wholeness, and prosperity. He has a plan for your finances. He has a plan for your talents.

But, we must understand that everything is for the glory of God.

for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. (Colossians 1:16 NLT)

According to Colossians 1:16, we were created for His glory. And according to Jeremiah 1:5, we were set apart to be His prophets to the nations.

This means that it’s all for Him. The healing of our marriages is for Him. The flourishing of our businesses is for Him. Our success in the workplace, our purpose, and our finances is for Him. You see, everything blessed in our lives points back to Him…it brings Him glory. And it is important for us to understand this.

Why?

Because, if His plans were designed for His glory, our hope was designed for the same purpose as well.

Our hope shows us how our lives will glorify God.

The hope that you have is much more important than you think. You have hope for an amazing spouse because God wants your marriage to glorify him. You have hope for beautiful children because God wants your children to glorify Him. You have hope to prosper in your workplace because God wants your success to glorify Him.

You thought it was all for you…for your satisfaction and happiness…but it’s not. It’s all for Him. And this should bring you comfort. This should expand your hope.

Why?

Because the Lord always fulfills His plans.

And the Lord said, “That’s right, and it means that I am watching, and I will certainly carry out all my plans.” (Jeremiah 1:12 NLT)

He will provide you with a beautiful family. He will provide you with an amazing career. He will enable you to walk in purpose. He will bless you financially.

How do I know this?

Because I have lived it, and I am living it right now. I have waited and waited for God. I have felt the pain of my hope being unfulfilled for years. But God is faithful. He has blessed my life with the things that I have hoped for, and He is blessing my life right now.

Maybe you’re reading this, and you’re drained from the wait. Maybe you’ve been questioning if you’ll ever see the thing that you’re hoping for. Maybe you’re wondering if He will do what He said He will do. If that’s the case, I want you to know that He will. He will bless you with a beautiful family. He will bless you with a fulfilling purpose. He will enable you to prosper and encourage others. It’s not a matter of if He will. It’s a matter of whether or not you will wait for Him.

As a woman that has waited, and as someone that has experienced the fulfillment of hope, I want to encourage you to keep going. Keep believing. Never stop. Continue on this journey. I know how hard it is, but I also know that it’s worth it. You will be fulfilled. You will experience the joy of living in the blessing of God. He will do all that He said He would do. He will not fail you. Keep your hope in Him today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for the plan that you have for my life, and thank you for the hope that you have given me. Today, I am choosing your will; and so, I am deciding to lean into the hope that you’ve placed in my heart. I will believe the things that you have spoken over me, and I will have faith that you always fulfill your word. I believe that my life will one day reflect the desires that you have given me. But until that time, I will trust in you. I will wait on your promises. I will believe your word, even when it doesn’t seem possible. Because nothing is impossible for you, Father. I know that you will never fail me. I believe that you will never leave my side. I love you. In Jesus name, amen.
